DEMONSTRATORS MARCHING, CHANTING SLOGANSTIRANA, ALBANIA - JUNE 18: A pro-Palestinian demonstration and march were held in Tirana, the capital of Albania, on Wednesday, June 18. Protesters gathered at Skanderbeg Square under the slogan "Stop the genocide in Gaza," condemning Israel’s attacks on Palestinians and calling for an end to the war and the ongoing violence in Gaza. Participants waved Albanian and Palestinian flags and carried banners reading, "Stop the bombing in Gaza," "Stop the genocide in Gaza," "Free Palestine," "Stop killing children," and "Implement the two-state solution." Following speeches and the demonstration at Skanderbeg Square, a solidarity march in support of Palestine took place. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing more than 55,600 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
