Flooding has submerged villages in Indonesia, following heavy rainfall.

At least four rural settlements were affected by deluge and landslides in the district after intense downpours caused rivers to overflow in Bolano Lambunu, Central Sulawesi, on Wednesday, June 18.

Authorities confirmed that the affected villages include Lembah Bomban, Lambunu, Wanamukti Utara, and Siendeng.

Footage shows flooded houses and roads as motorists cautiously navigate through the waters.

A total of 1,712 individuals were affected, with around 1,152 displaced from their homes.

Akris Fattah Yunus, Head of the Central Sulawesi Disaster Management Agency (BPBD Sulteng), said that BPBD Parigi Moutong Regency, in coordination with a joint task force, had conducted field assessments, cleared flood and landslide debris using heavy equipment and coordinated with relevant agencies.

Akris added: 'There were no reports of fatalities in this incident.'
