China: Chinese tech company seeks to accelerate driverless boats

[Voiceover] Autonomous driving is steering into the water, with China's unmanned boat maker Orcauboat recently advancing as one of the top five competitors in the Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport 2025. The multi-year international competition brings together industry leaders, start-ups, and academia to tackle real-world mobility challenges. The CEO of the driverless boat company said said besides unmanned leisure boats, their focus this year is on developing intelligent driving systems for vessels. [Soundbite] Zhu Jiannan, CEO, Orcauboat: "What we provide are 'smart brains' for vessels, which include various smart driving systems ranging from driver assistance solutions to connected vessels to advanced pilot assistance systems."
