CHOLPON ATA, KYRGYZSTAN - JUNE 19, 2025: Kyrgyzstan, as the current chair of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), hosted a meeting of Security Council secretaries from member states on Thursday, June 19, in Cholpon Ata. Participants included Kyrgyzstan’s Security Council Secretary Baktybek Bekbolotov, Belarus’ State Secretary of the Security Council Alexsandr Volfovich, Kazakhstan’s Security Council Secretary Gizat Nurdauletov, Tajikistan’s Security Council Secretary Yusuf Rahmon, and Russia’s Deputy Secretary of the Security Council Aleksei Shevtsov. The officials discussed the current security situation in the CSTO area, measures to strengthen the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border, and agreed to establish a working group on information security. They also approved documents for planning military cooperation among CSTO members for 2026–2030, joint training for command structures, and improvements to the organization’s collective security forces and command systems.
