Eddie Motta was gearing up for a dream trip to Italy, camera bag ready, until he opened what should’ve been a $2,300 Sony lens from Amazon... and found a dumbbell instead.

The shock quickly turned to frustration as Eddie realized he’d likely been scammed. He immediately contacted Amazon with photo and video proof, and while the company promptly promised a refund, the process was anything but quick.

Despite assurances, it took over a month and a nudge past the refund due date before Eddie finally saw his money returned.

I was shocked to find a dumbbell instead of a 2300 camera lense from Sony. I couldn’t believe that it arrived like that. I was so excited to use it on my trip to Italy and instead I got scammed. I contact Amazon immediately with proof of the dumbbell and they immediately got to helping me return the box and guaranteeing a refund. Although the process took over a month to get a refund. And I only got my money back after messaging them after the “refund due date” and then they were able to give me my refund. A nightmare of feeling scammed, disappointed, and given a month of a headache.
