This is the amusing moment a squid had its tentacle stuck on the side of a glass tank.

The cephalopod was gliding through the water when one of its tentacles latched onto the aquarium wall in Chonburi, Thailand.

Footage shows the marine animal trying to free the long arm accidentally suctioned onto the transparent surface.

In the clip, the hapless squid can be seen repeatedly yanking as it struggled to detach itself on June 1.

Each time it pulled, the stuck limb stretched comically before snapping back, much to the amusement of onlookers.

Onlooker Areeya Moonla said: 'The squid managed to release itself eventually.'

Squid tentacles are covered in suction cups designed to create a tight vacuum-like grip. The powerful grip allows them to catch and hold onto prey.
