TEHRAN, IRAN - JUNE 19, 2025: An Iranian Red Crescent ambulance targeted in an Israeli airstrike on June 16 has been placed on public display at Tehran’s Haft-e-Tir Square. The ambulance was struck while responding to casualties during Israel’s attack on the Iranian capital. Two Red Crescent staff members were reportedly killed in the strike. The heavily burned and deformed vehicle now stands as a stark symbol of the attack’s intensity and the threats faced by civilians. Throughout the day, visitors, including families, students, and healthcare workers, gather at the site to view the destroyed ambulance and pay tribute to the fallen medical personnel. Also displayed in Tehran streets are posters commemorating both civilians and senior officials killed in Israeli strikes. Hostilities began Friday when Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes. Israeli authorities said at least 25 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks. Meanwhile, in Iran, 639 people have been killed and more than 1,300 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to Iranian media reports. Reporting by Eisa Mohammadi // Writing by Mustafa Tuncer
