Phoenix, United States - June 21, 2025 06/20/2025 09:30 pm GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Phoenix police and Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on 27th Avenue, just north of Camelback Road, at approximately 9:30 p.m. According to Phoenix police at the scene, a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling southbound on 27th Avenue and struck an unidentified pedestrian. The pedestrian was not inside a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. Phoenix fire personnel arrived at the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local trauma center in critical condition. The pedestrian was later pronounced deceased. A hard closure was established for 27th Avenue. The closure stretched from the north side of the Camelback Road intersection to Colter Street. The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours. Phoenix Police Vehicular Crimes Unit detectives have taken command of the investigation.
