This is the dramatic moment police rescue a driver and passengers from a sinking crashed car in Washington.

The rescue unfolded late Tuesday night, June 17, after a Mini Cooper plunged off the Edmonds Ferry Terminal dock into Puget Sound.

First responders pulled three survivors from the submerged vehicle.

Bodycam footage shows police and firefighters conducting the rescue, with panicked passengers heard in the background.

Officials reported the crash followed a police chase that began when a Washington State Patrol trooper attempted to stop the car for speeding.

The driver reportedly fled, leading deputies to the ferry terminal, where the vehicle broke through a barrier.

At around 11:30 pm, the Mini Cooper crashed into the water, killing two occupants. The three survivors were rushed to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries.

Ferry services resumed normal operations by 4:30 am Wednesday.

Authorities suspect drugs or alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
