Heavy mountain runoff turned a normally calm river into raging rapids in China.

Footage shows murky, swollen waters surging violently near a residential area, with powerful currents rushing downstream on June 1.

Another video reveals turbulent floodwaters roaring alongside a nearby road, creating hazardous conditions.

Authorities reported that the incident followed days of torrential rain in Nujiang, Yunnan Province.

The region has been severely impacted by intense flooding and mudslides caused by record-breaking rainfall, which has damaged roads, washed away bridges and buildings, and left numerous towns and cities cut off as swollen rivers overflowed their banks.
