This video captures the moment Iranian forces launched missiles towards a US base in Qatar.

Explosions were reported around Doha, Qatar, on Monday (23/06), as Tehran announced it had launched a missile attack targeting the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.

Footage shows the explosion in mid-air, and was taken by a man working offshore at an oil rig off the coast of Qatar at 7:45 pm.

Qatar's Defence Minister, cited by Al Jazeera, said the country's air defences had intercepted missiles directed at Al Udeid, which houses the United States Air Force.

A US defence official confirmed Iran had targeted the Al Udeid airbase in Qatar, the largest US military facility in the Middle East, in "a retaliatory but largely symbolic response"
