This is the bizarre moment a fully grown cat was seen nursing alongside a kitten.

Footage captured by pet owner Paula Lomerio shows one-year-old Calico cat Kenma suckling milk beside her two-month-old grey sibling in Albay, the Philippines.

Their three-year-old mother, named Morette, lies patiently on the floor as both cats nurse, despite Kenma being well past weaning age.

At one point, the larger feline even appears to nudge the younger kitten aside to claim her spot on April 22.

Experts said that this type of behaviour, while uncommon, can occur in domesticated cats due to a variety of reasons.

In some cases, it may stem from a strong bond with the mother or be a self-soothing mechanism retained from kittenhood.
