"As the earthquake hits, the little boy runs back to the table and calmly continues eating."

At 6:48 p.m. on June 23, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province.

At the time of the earthquake, a young boy was having a meal with his family. Upon feeling the tremor, the father quickly took the younger brother and ran outside, shouting for the rest of the family to follow. The boy initially ran to the door as well, but then remembered, “I haven’t finished my meal,” so he returned to the table—twice—to continue eating. Despite the father’s repeated calls, the boy circled the table, holding a bowl in one hand and a dish in the other as he headed for the door. It was only after his father insisted that he put the food down and finally left with the adults.

The boy’s father, Mr. Li, said: “This kid has a naturally funny streak. I only realized how hilarious the situation was after watching the video. At the time, I was really anxious and kept telling him to run, to hurry and run.”

Afterwards, Mr. Li educated his child, stressing that life comes first, and in dangerous situations like an earthquake, personal safety must always be the top priority.
