Los Angeles, United States - June 24, 2025 06/24/2025 04:16 am GMT-0700 CLAREMONT, Calif. – California Highway Patrol from the Baldwin Park station and the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a traffic collision on the eastbound 10 Freeway, just east of Indian Hill Boulevard in Claremont. At the scene, the fire department temporarily blocked the area to protect firefighters and officers. At the same time, they investigated an initial collision that occurred on the right shoulder of the eastbound 10 Freeway, also just east of Indian Hill Boulevard. A second collision happened when a vehicle rear-ended a firetruck involved in the first crash. The driver of the second crash was pronounced dead at the scene by firefighters and paramedics. No firefighters or CHP officers were injured in the second crash. CHP issued a Sig Alert for the number 4 and 5 lanes of the eastbound 10 Freeway for an unknown duration.
