Storyline: The deadly twelve-day conflict between Iran and Israel officially came to a close on June 24, with both sides releasing casualty figures that underline the heavy toll of the violence. Hossein Kermanpour, head of the Iranian Health Ministry's public relations, said on Tuesday via social media that Israeli strikes across Iran since June 13 had resulted in 610 deaths and 4,746 injuries. Meanwhile, Israel's Army Radio reported that Iran launched 500 to 550 ballistic missiles and more than 1,000 drones during the conflict, killing 28 Israelis and causing widespread destruction. It also reported that the bombardment damaged dozens of infrastructure sites, left hundreds of homes uninhabitable and displaced scores of civilians. In a public address to the nation on Tuesday, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that the conflict, instigated by Israel, is over now, and called on government agencies to immediately shift efforts toward reconstruction. In a phone call with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim on the same day, Pezeshkian reiterated Iran's readiness to uphold the ceasefire, provided Israel does the same, and affirmed Iran's willingness to return to the negotiating table and defend the legitimate rights of the Iranian people. Also on Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement, saying that Chief of the General Staff of the IDF Eyal Zamir had announced a strategic refocus on Gaza, and the IDF will now prioritize its efforts in rescuing hostages and dismantling Hamas' rule of the region.
