GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - JUNE 25, 2025: Palestinians in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, gathered to get some clean water from tanker trucks on Wednesday, June 25, as Israeli airstrikes continued to compound already severe humanitarian conditions. With essential resources scarce, including water, food, and shelter, residents relied on mobile water deliveries to meet their basic needs. The UN on Monday reported that Israeli authorities denied half of the coordinated aid movement requests in the Gaza Strip over the weekend, severely hampering critical humanitarian operations. "On Saturday and Sunday, we and our partners attempted to coordinate 16 humanitarian movements, but half of them were denied outright, hindering the trucking of water and fuel, the provisions of nutrition services and the retrieval of bodies," UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric said at a news conference. Israel imposed a total blockade on humanitarian supplies entering Gaza on March 2. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing over 56,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
