KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA - JUNE 25, 2025 - PRESIDENCY OF KYRGYZSTAN: Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov met with over 50 Malaysian business leaders in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday, June 25, urging them to invest in Kyrgyzstan’s priority sectors, including hydropower, agriculture, tourism, education, healthcare, digitalization, and mining. Japarov was welcomed by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim with an official welcoming ceremony in the capital. Japarov emphasized Kyrgyzstan's strategic location at the crossroads of major trade and transport routes, highlighting the country's rich natural resources and special economic zones that offer tax and customs incentives to investors. He described Kyrgyzstan as a “land of new opportunities” and expressed confidence in building a strong partnership with Malaysia based on trust and shared development goals. Following the meeting, the two countries signed memorandums on a halal meat park, a gold trading deal, and an energy cooperation accord.
