MILAN, ITALY - JUNE 25, 2025: Around a hundred musicians assembled on Wednesday, June 25, in front of the historic La Scala opera house in Milan to perform a concert in solidarity with the Palestinian people. The event, titled "Music Against Silence," was part of a broader initiative held across several Italian cities, aimed at breaking the silence and raising awareness about the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The musicians performed a range of pieces, including Bella Ciao, Mozart’s Requiem, and Mawtini, as well as the Palestinian national anthem. During the performance, attendees waved Palestinian flags and chanted "Free Palestine" slogans. Rejecting international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing over 56,100 Palestinians, most of them women and children. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
