Hezbollah organized the protest in response to recent regional tensions, aiming to express solidarity with the Iranian government. Demonstrators chanted slogans supporting Iran while denouncing Israel and the United States. Supporters sang Lebanese, Iranian, and Hezbollah anthems while carrying flags of Iran, Lebanon, and Hezbollah, along with images of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. A large banner displayed on the wall of the Iranian Embassy showed a depiction of former Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, killed in a U.S. airstrike in Iraq, kissing Nasrallah on the forehead. Israel launched airstrikes on several sites across Iran on June 13, including military and nuclear facilities, alleging that Tehran was on the verge of producing a nuclear bomb, a claim denied by Iran. While Iran launched retaliatory missile and drone strikes, the US joined the conflict by bombing three Iranian nuclear sites on Sunday. After 12 days of aerial combat between the two regional arch-foes, Trump on Monday announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran to end their conflict.
