A Thai pensioner has become a local sensation as he regularly takes his pack of pet dogs with him on motorcycle rides.

Boonsong, 75, is seen in the video carrying the seven furry passengers around as he runs errands in Ratchaburi, Thailand, on June 20.

The well-trained pooches watched the scenery as they huddled together on the two-wheeler coasting along the road.

When the retiree left to buy some dog food, they obediently stayed behind to guard the vehicle.

Boonsong, fondly called 'Uncle Song' by the residents, currently owns 17 dogs of different breeds, including Shih Tzus, Labradors, and Poodle-Pomeranian mixes.

He said: 'I didn't have a single dog until my brother brought one home. That dog became pregnant, and eventually, the villagers gave me more puppies to raise. I couldn't turn them away because I love animals.

'I take the dogs out on the motorbike because I want them to have fun outside the house. If they stay home all day, they're in cages and can get noisy.

'So I divide them into groups and take turns bringing seven out at a time, as many as the motorcycle can hold, so none of them feel left out. I train each one to get on and off the bike properly, and once they're used to it, I bring them out together to make sure they're safe while enjoying themselves.'

The pensioner added that he has been taking road trips with the pets for more than 10 years, with amused locals asking to take selfies with his dogs to post on social media.

He said: 'I spend more than 10,000 baht (300 USD) on dog food, but it's ok because they bring me happiness. I want to take care of them because they are my family.'
