A schoolboy impresses his classmates by riding his pet horse to school every day.

Equestrian enthusiast Theerapat Ransawananon, 13, stands out in traffic as he trots his three-year-old colt Sunny to the campus in Ang Thong, Thailand.

The student said he was initially embarrassed about the unusual mode of transportation, but eventually grew used to the daily morning horseback rides.

He said: 'I was a bit shy at first, but I've always felt a deep love and connection with horses. Riding saves fuel, and I don't need a motorcycle.

'In my free time, I even teach villagers who want to learn horse riding and I can earn money when I accept jobs like processions and parades with my horses.'

On the way to school, Theerapat let his fellow horse lover Chart take the reins.

Footage from June 24 shows Chart in a green shirt riding Sunny next to the busy road before steering the equine across a zebra crossing.

He said: 'I see Theerapat riding his horse every day and I thought I wanted to try it for myself. It looked cool and fuel-efficient. I also have a horse at home, but I haven't taken him out for a ride yet.'

The school director, Nuchanart Yimchan, said Theerapat has permission to bring the colt to school, where it is tethered in a shelter during classes.

Nuchanart said: 'Because that boy loves his horse so much, he drops by during his break to spend time with him. I let him keep the horse on school grounds so it's more convenient for him.'
