Storyline: China's industrial robot exports torque up global growth [Voice_over] As the process of automation is adopted around the world, China's industrial robot exports are powering into high gear to meet booming global demand. Official data shows that in the first five months of this year, the country's industrial robot output increased by 32 percent from a year ago, with export values even stronger at 55.4 percent. And that growth momentum is showing no sign of slowing. This company in the southern Chinese city of Dongguan that makes robot chassis and robotic arms has been swamped with orders for their data collection systems, which are critical tools to develop and train humanoid robots. [Sound_bite] Chen Peng, marketing director, AgileX Robotics: "We literally can't ship them out fast enough. Our export volume this year has surged 70-80 percent compared to last year. The most rapid growth comes from scientific research sectors, especially AI, where demand is most urgent - some clients require extremely tight delivery timelines." [Voice_over] Another manufacturer in the eastern city of Suzhou has also gained strong traction in overseas markets, with its industrial handling robots that can be customized. These units, for instance, feature customizations designed specifically for a Japanese client. [Sound_bite] Wu Shengyi, deputy general manager, AiTEN Robotics: "First, the sensors must immediately detect any load shifts caused by movement during cargo handling. Second, if any unexpected intrusion occurs during operation, the system must instantly perceive it and initiate emergency stopping." [Voice_over] In 2024, China's industrial robot production went up by over 14 percent year-on-year to some 556,000 units. [Restrictions : No access Chinese mainland]
