China: Electric Bike Keeps Riding Through Crash Scene After Cyclist Falls
Yinchuan, China - June 26, 2025 A dramatic road accident occurred when a small car collided with an electric bicycle at the intersection of Shuofang Road and Xichang Street. The car, driven by an individual identified as Ma, was heading eastbound on Shuofang Road. As Ma attempted to make a right turn onto Xichang Street, the vehicle struck an electric bicycle being ridden by Wang. Ma failed to observe the electric bicycle approaching from behind during the turn. The collision left Wang injured and caused damage to both the bicycle and the car. Most astonishingly, after Wang was thrown off from the impact, the electric bike continued moving forward through the crash site without its rider. Following an investigation, traffic police concluded that Ma bore full responsibility for the accident. Authorities stated that Ma did not yield while turning, as required by traffic regulations. Police issued a reminder to all drivers: slow down before turning, stay alert, and always give the right of way to vehicles traveling straight.
