A British passenger was arrested for allegedly causing chaos on a flight to Ibiza.

The male tourist had reportedly downed a bottle of vodka in frustration as Jet2 flight LS1181 from Birmingham was delayed for two and a half hours on June 13.

Tempers flared before takeoff when the holidaymakers were allowed on board, only to face more delays once seated.

As tensions increased, one man, seen in the video wearing a green hoodie, was said to have chugged down a bottle of Ciroc vodka before appearing to provoke another passenger.

Footage shows the unruly tourist throwing clothing at another man, who stood up to retaliate before others stepped in.

Passenger CJ Edwards, who was onboard the nightmare flight, said: 'People were drinking and doing all sorts, and what I want to say is that it wasn't just him.

'There were a lot of things going on. There was a fight on the plane, someone got slapped, and someone was sick in the aisles. My friend had sick on his shoe. People were passing drinks over each other.

'There was a lot going on. So when we got on the flight and told we can't move, the guy took his bottle of Ciroc out that he'd got from duty free and, I'm not lying, he's guzzled it down in about 10 seconds.'

The plane eventually took off at 8:44 pm, but the man reportedly continued to cause mayhem mid-flight.

CJ said: 'And when it's doing all of this in the air, the man is standing up. He's doing the most. He was coming to the back of the plane where I was, trying to get a drink off people and talk to some guys.

'When the air hostess told him to sit down, he's looked in her face and said 'But who are you? Who are you to tell me to sit down?'.'

Once the plane landed on the Spanish party island, the Civil Guard stormed inside the cabin to drag the intoxicated Brit away.

A Jet2 spokesman said: 'The customer has been banned for life. As a family-friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive passenger behaviour.'

The incident occurred just a month after drunk British passengers caused cabin chaos on another flight to Ibiza, which is facing an overtourism crisis.

The travellers were reportedly screaming and chanting 'come on Ibiza!' while onboard easyJet flight EZY2307 on May 16.

Furious passenger Erika, who filmed the mid-air ruckus, said: 'My trip yesterday, London-Ibiza with easy jet was a real horror!! I was scared, a plane full of real English animals.

'We don't want this type of tourism in Ibiza, they should stay at home!'

An easyJet spokesman said the plane was met by police on arrival due to the tourists' unruly behaviour.

The spokesman added: 'Whilst such incidents are ra,re we take them very seriously and do not tolerate disruptive behaviour onboard. The safety and well-being of passengers and crew is always easyJet's highest priority.'
