Snorkeller dragged by currents crashes into coral injuring her arm
This is the terrifying moment a snorkeller dragged by currents injured her arm on a coral.
The woman and her boyfriend were scuba diving when she was struck by a large wave off a beach in Chumphon, Thailand.
The tourist was pulled under the surface toward jagged coral reefs jutting out of the sea floor.
Footage shows her bumping her arm against sea anemones and sea urchins on the reef on March 3.
When she surfaced, a nearby dive guide quickly pulled her onto a boat and doused her wound with vinegar.
She was rushed to a hospital, where her injuries were treated with antibiotics.
Local media reported that she was not seriously hurt and has since recovered from the injury.
Her boyfriend said: 'After exploring two islands, we arrived at our final dive site. She swam through the reef to the other side without issue, until a sudden surge of current swept her back toward the coral.'
