This is what driving into a thunderstorm in Canada looks like

Buy video

This video shows what it looks like to drive into the heart of an Alberta Thunderstorm. Clips from the passengers POV while driving through a thunderstorm in southern Alberta are shown. Several types of lightning were observed and captured in the video, including sheet lightning, spider lightning, and cloud to ground. Heavy rain caused many drivers to pull over and use four way lights, as windshield wipers could barely keep up with the intensity of rain. As the vehicle gets deeper into the storm, the heavy clouds begin to block sunlight and the video darkens (as the storm worsens, the video gets darker). This video was taken on June 26, 2025, 8-9 pm MDT near Red Deer, Alberta Canada with possible funnel clouds reported.
