SUNSETJAFFA, ISRAEL - JUNE 28, 2025: The Al-Bahr Mosque, known to Palestinians as Arous al-Bahr (Bride of the Sea), remains one of the most prominent architectural legacies of the Ottoman Empire in the coastal city of Jaffa. Constructed during Ottoman rule — which spanned more than four centuries in the region — the mosque is among the oldest Islamic landmarks in the city and continues to draw attention for its historical and architectural value. Perched along the Mediterranean coast, Al-Bahr has long served both as a place of worship and a navigational landmark for maritime travelers. Despite dramatic shifts in the region’s political landscape, the mosque has retained its original structure and symbolic significance.
