Coast Guard airlifts man with chest pains from oil rig
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — A U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Ventura crew successfully medevaced a man from an oil platform approximately 35 miles off the coast of Santa Barbara on June 27, 2025.
According to the Coast Guard, District 11 watchstanders received an emergency call reporting that a crew member aboard the oil rig was experiencing severe chest pains.
An aircrew was immediately dispatched and safely airlifted the individual for medical treatment.
The swift response underscores the Coast Guard’s vital role in offshore emergency rescues.
