HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. — Cpl. Travis Weaver of the Howell County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit went above and beyond on June 23 when he rescued a stranded kitten stuck high in a tree.

Responding to reports of the frightened feline, Weaver climbed the tree himself, safely retrieved the kitten, and returned it to its grateful owner.

The department praised Weaver’s quick response and compassion, calling it another example of deputies serving the community in every way—big or small.
