US, Los Angeles: Lancaster Vegetation Fire Contained Near Homes and School in West Lancaster

Los Angeles, United States - June 30, 2025 06/30/2025 01:49 pm GMT-0700 LANCASTER, Calif. – Firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded swiftly to a vegetation fire near 60th Street West and Avenue L. The blaze, which broke out in the West Lancaster area, posed an immediate threat to nearby homes and bordered Quartz Hill High School. Multiple resources were deployed to contain the fire, including helicopters, bulldozers, and crews from a nearby inmate fire camp. Thanks to the coordinated efforts of ground and air teams, the fire was brought under control before it could cause structural damage. No homes were lost in the incident, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
