A storm caused widespread damage as raging winds struck buildings across Thailand.

Footage shows several vendors and customers seeking shelter as powerful gusts swept through Bangkok on June 29.

Near the Victory Monument, a worker was seen trying to gather items from her food stall, which was being blown away along with other nearby shops.

The Thai Meteorological Department reported that a moderate southwest monsoon was prevailing over Thailand, including the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, while a low-pressure cell covered upper Vietnam.

Isolated heavy rainfall was expected in upper Thailand, with residents in the upper North and Northeast regions advised to remain alert for potential flash flooding and water accumulation.

The department also forecast that the Bangkok Metropolitan Region would experience scattered thundershowers.

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are at the start of their annual monsoon rainy season, which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rainstorms. The rudimentary infrastructure often struggles with the deluge, leading to widespread flash floods.
