Torrential rain triggered flash floods in northern India.

Footage shows a collapsed bridge in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, amid raging floodwaters caused by a cloudburst.

Several houses were reportedly swept away, along with numerous vehicles.

Local reports stated that the death toll in the region reached 44 over the past 10 days as of June 30, with 82 people injured.

The fatalities were attributed to flash floods, drowning, snake bites, falls from steep terrain, road accidents, and electrocution.

The State Emergency Operation Centre reported that 259 roads across the area were closed, including 129 in Mandi and 92 in the Sirmaur district.

A total of 614 power transformers and 130 water supply systems were also disrupted.

Authorities noted that Himachal Pradesh received an average of 135 mm of rain in June, significantly higher than the normal average of 101 mm, an excess of 34 per cent.
