The Palestinian death toll in the war-torn Gaza Strip has risen to 56,531, with 133,642 others injured since the latest round of the conflict broke out on October 7, 2023, said Gaza's health authorities on Monday. In the past 24 hours alone, Israeli attacks killed 28 more Palestinians and injured 223, according to the health authorities. Palestinian medical and security sources reported on Monday that the death toll from an Israeli airstrike on a beachfront cafe in northern Gaza City had risen to 34, with several others injured. Al-Shifa Hospital said in a brief statement that most of the victims were women and children. The casualties were taken to the hospital after the strike. Witnesses said the cafe, situated to the west of the al-Shati refugee camp, was often used by journalists and civilians to access the internet. Palestinian security officials and eyewitnesses reported that an Israeli aircraft fired at least one missile at the location. Among the deceased was journalist Ismail Abu Hatab, while another journalist, Bayan Abu Sultan, was injured and is now in stable condition. Besides, Israeli aircraft also bombed a warehouse distributing aid supplies in southern Gaza City, killing at least 10 people, as reported by local sources. There are also reports that the Israeli military attacked a crowd in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip who were waiting to receive aid supplies, resulting in at least 13 deaths and dozens of injuries.
