Somalia: AU mission helicopter crashes during landing in Mogadishu

VARIOUS OF SMOKE RISING FROM CRASH SITEMOGADISHU, SOMALIA - JULY 2, 2025: A helicopter operated by the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) crashed while attempting to land at Aden Adde International Airport in Mogadishu. The aircraft had departed from Balidoogle airbase and was carrying eight crew members at the time of the incident. The crash occurred during the landing phase of the flight. There were no immediate reports of casualties or injuries. Authorities said an investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
