England v India Test Match fans fined over one Thousand pounds in parking tickets at Edgbaston, Birmingham

Birmingham City Council has raked in over a THOUSAND pounds after England and India Test Match Cricket fans failed to take note of parking restrictions close to Edgbaston Stadium.

A total of 19 vehicles were ticketed on Sir Harrys Road a distance of 130 metres between Bristol Road and Hollies Croft on Wednesday 2 July.

England is playing India at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham, the home of the Warwickshire Bears.

No Waiting road signs and cones have been placed along the road but drivers decided to risk parking with the hope of not getting fined.

The ticket fine is £70.00, so this equates to £1,330 although a reduced option of £35.00 can be paid within 14 days of the date of the fine.

Even a disabled driver was fined as no exceptions were given to the temporary rule.

The ground has a capacity of 25,000 with Wednesday’s match sold out.

The cricket continues at Edgbaston until the 6th of July.
