VARIOUS OF PALESTINIANS AND VEHICLES MOVING TOWARD AID POINT NEAR NETZARIM CORRIDOR AMID SMOKEGAZA, PALESTINE - JULY 2: Large numbers of Palestinians flocked to an aid distribution point in the central Gaza Strip on Wednesday, July 2 in hopes of receiving humanitarian aid which is expected to be delivered via the Netzarim Corridor. Facing extreme shortages of food, water, and medical supplies, many residents flocked to the area in an attempt to access the limited aid available. Israel has kept Gaza’s main crossings largely closed since March 2, blocking hundreds of aid and supply trucks. UN agencies say Gaza requires at least 500 trucks daily to meet basic needs, but often fewer than 50 are allowed to enter. Despite international calls for a ceasefire, the Israeli army has pursued a genocidal war on Gaza, killing more than 57,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, since October 2023. Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
