The fires, which broke out in the Cesme and Odemis districts, have prompted evacuations in several neighborhoods as a precaution. In Cesme’s Ildir neighborhood, flames that started in agricultural land spread rapidly to nearby forest areas due to high winds. Meanwhile, in Odemis’ Tosunlar neighborhood, a forest fire ignited in the Manastir area and quickly reached the Sucikti neighborhood, damaging some homes. Authorities have deployed five planes, 18 helicopters, numerous fire trucks, and heavy machinery to combat the fires from both the air and ground. Firefighters are working tirelessly to control the flames, while helicopters and planes conduct water drops over the affected areas. As a safety measure, residents in Ildir, Germiyan, and Nohutalan (Urla district) have been evacuated. In Odemis, the neighborhoods of Tosunlar and Sucikti were also cleared, with some structures suffering fire damage. Efforts to fully contain the wildfires remain ongoing, with emergency teams on high alert. Further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
