This is the shocking moment a brazen thief stole a parked motorcycle from outside a shop.

A motorist had left his vehicle idling in front of a small store while he stepped inside to buy some items in Udon Thani, Thailand.

Believing he wouldn't be long, the owner left the engine running.

However, the suspected individual approached the unattended motorcycle, quickly hopped on, and sped away.

A staff member inside the shop saw the vehicle being driven off and shouted to alert others nearby.

This prompted another man to immediately jump on his own motorcycle and give chase.

Footage shows the quick-thinking rider accelerating across the highway in an attempt to escape the culprit on June 25.

Local media reported that the pursuing motorist managed to catch up and kick the stolen motorcycle mid-ride, causing it to crash.

The thief was said to have fled on foot, while the owner was able to recover his motorcycle.
