Artist's scribbles turn out to be impressive portrait
An artist appearing to scribble lines on paper turned out to be an impressive portrait.
Footage shows Renson Alinsunurin, 27, using a black-inked pen to create seemingly random marks on a white canvass in Laguna, the Philippines.
Renson used quick hand movements and strokes until the Filipino senator Bam Aquino's image slowly formed.
He added finishing details, darkening parts of his hair and eyeglasses until the artwork was done.
Renson said: ‘When the pandemic hit, I lost my job and couldn't leave the house. During that time, I decided to expand my knowledge in art.
‘That's when I discovered different techniques like stippling, typography, stencil, and especially the scribbling technique. I gradually learned these on my own by studying and watching online tutorials.
‘As part of my art journey, I decided to draw Senator Bam Aquino as a way of supporting his candidacy. In this small way, I wanted to show my support for him. I did this before the election.'
Scribble art is a type of drawing where the artist uses loose, freeform lines or scribbles to create an image.
