Woman shot in Dudley, West Midlands after bullets fired through windows of family home

West Midlands Police search teams and forensics investigate after a woman was seriously injured after being shot inside her Dudley home just after Midnight on Thursday 3 July morning.

According to a resident at the scene on Priory Road, it is believed a child was inside the property at the time.

Detectives also arrived to conduct door to door enquiries as a forensic officer looked at the bullet holes in the front bay window and the door.

West Midlands Police released this statement: An investigation has been launched after a woman was shot at an address in Dudley.

‘We were called to reports of a firearms discharge at an address in Priory Road, Dudley, just after midnight today.

‘Two shots were fired at an address, and a woman was hit by one of the shots. She was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where she remains.

‘We understand the concern in the community this incident will raise.

'Officers will remain in the area and be carrying out reassurance patrols. ‘Our investigators are carrying out enquiries to identify who’s involved.

‘The road remains closed this morning.

‘Anyone who witnessed the incident, or may have dash cam or doorbell footage, is asked to get in touch with us via 101, quoting log 66 of 3 July.’
