US, Los Angeles: Simi Valley One Killed in Possible Fireworks Related Garage Explosion

Los Angeles, United States - July 03, 2025 07/03/2025 11:48 am GMT-0700 Simi Valley – The Ventura County Fire Department responded to reports of heavy smoke near the intersection of Erringer Road and Fitzgerald Avenue. As firefighters arrived, additional reports indicated an explosion at a residence in the 1600 block of Edmund Street. Upon their arrival, crews found a garage that had been blown out, with heavy smoke and fire showing. During the firefighting efforts, firefighters learned that one person was missing in the fire. Tragically, the victim was later found deceased inside the garage. Neighbors reported that the victim may have been working on fireworks inside the garage at the time of the explosion. The Ventura County Fire Department's arson investigators and the Simi Valley Police Department will be investigating the incident. No further details are available at this time.
