SHOTLIST: MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (JULY 3, 2025) (ANADOLU - ACCESS ALL) 1. NAME SIGN OF CASA TOCHAN, REFUGEE SHELTER 2. ENTRANCE OF CASA TOCHAN 3. MAN CLEANING STAIRS (TWO SHOTS) 4. VARIOUS OF WOMEN PREPARING FOOD 5. VARIOUS OF MIGRANTS INSIDE CASA TOCHAN 6. VARIOUS OF PEOPLE INCLUDING CHILDREN OUTSIDE 7. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) GABRIELA HERNANDEZ, DIRECTOR OF CASA TOCHAN SAYING: "Uncertainty because they still don't know exactly what to do, (the migrants) they had a life plan, and by removing CBP One their plan was broken, their life was broken, and so obviously remaking the plan is not so easy and in that sense there is still uncertainty. We do have hope that they will change in 4 years (the immigration policies) but that hate speech permeates a lot. The (Mexican) government is going off on a tangent because the Mexico Te Embraces program is exclusive to Mexicans, but what's more, not even Mexicans are enjoying it that much because of the way Mexican immigration operates. We're almost at our regular capacity, but not the number of migrants arriving. These are people who have been in Mexico for some time and want to return to their country, but they have to buy a return ticket. Let's remember that we must treat others as we want to be treated, and if we want our migrants in the United States to be well and not be persecuted, we must at least be empathetic with the people who are here."MEXICO CITY, MEXICO - JULY 3: Migrants from countries like Venezuela, Honduras, and El Salvador remained stranded across Mexico City on Thursday, July 3, as U.S. immigration policies tightened and asylum programs ended. While some seek refugee status in Mexico or aim to return home, others still hope for a chance to reach the U.S. Casa Tochan shelter offers support through medical, legal, and psychological services, as well as job and cultural programs. Most informal migrant camps in Mexico City have been cleared, but in those that remain, migrants carry on with daily life, working, exercising, and sending their children to school despite an uncertain future.
