Two armed robbers stole gold from a jewellers in Harichandanpur, Odisha, on June 25.

Shop owner Nikunj Sahu told about the incident, "After doing puja, I went to a nearby shop to have tea. At that time two female customers were standing at my shop. As soon as I returned, a young man entered the shop behind me and after that four more people came inside.

"They immediately took out their weapons, beat us and threatened us to hand over all the jewellery. They cleared the entire shop within 7 to 8 minutes. It seemed as if they already knew where the jewellery was kept.”

It has been more than six days since the incident but no accused has been arrested yet. Due to this, anger is increasing among the local people and they are demanding the administration to catch the robbers as soon as possible.

The robbery that took place at a jewellery shop in Harichandanpur market of Keonjhar district of Odisha last Wednesday has created a sensation in the entire area. Armed robbers entered the shop located in the middle of the market and not only looted it but also threatened people with guns to scare them.

After the incident, the local people are in panic and are demanding strict action from the administration.

The entire incident has been recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the shop. It is clearly visible in the video that some robbers enter the shop, they had weapons like pistols and machete in their hands.

As soon as they enter the shop, they start waving guns in the air so that people standing nearby get scared and no one protests. Then in a few minutes they loot jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees from the shop and run away.

As soon as the information about the incident was received, Harichandanpur police reached the spot and cordoned off the entire area. The police also started a combing operation in the nearby forest in the direction of the robbers' escape. All the roads were sealed and a search operation was also carried out but no clue was found.

However, it has been more than 6 days since the incident but no accused has been arrested yet. Due to this, anger is increasing among the local people and they are demanding the administration to catch the robbers as soon as possible.
