Firefighters are battling multiple wildfires that first erupted earlier in the week across the Aegean coastal region. Strong winds continue to hamper containment efforts, as blazes spread rapidly through forested areas. The fires have caused significant disruptions, including highway closures and evacuation of nearby areas. Authorities are urging caution and cooperation from residents as emergency services work around the clock. The Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry has deployed substantial firefighting resources to the scene, including three fixed-wing aircraft, three helicopters, 16 fire engines, three water tankers, and a bulldozer.
