A rare birth at a civil hospital has drawn significant attention after a baby girl was born without both hands.


The incident occurred in Begumganj Civil Hospital, Begumganj, Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh, central India, on June 30.

The visuals from the scene show a healthcare worker attending to a newborn baby girl resting on a hospital bed. The infant is seen without both arms from the shoulders — a visible congenital anomaly present from birth.

According to reports, the incident took place on Monday afternoon, when Roshni, the wife of labourer Arbaaz Khan and a resident of Devlapur, delivered a healthy baby girl.

According to CBMO Dr. Nitin Singh Tomar, the newborn is missing both arms from the shoulder. While both mother and child are in stable condition, doctors noted that the child may face challenges in the future due to the congenital condition.

Soon after the delivery, hospital staff and family members gathered around to see the baby, and news of the rare birth spread quickly, attracting a crowd of onlookers. Medical professionals have not yet confirmed the cause of the limb absence, but such cases are often linked to developmental anomalies during pregnancy.

The birth has sparked concern and curiosity in the community, as many expressed sympathy and hope for the child’s future.
