At around 7 a.m. on July 2, due to over ten consecutive days of heavy rain, river levels surged and eroded the foundation of a five-story riverside self-built house in Minfu Village, Xinzhou Town, Longlin County, Baise City, Guangxi. The entire structure collapsed and fell into the river. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

The homeowner, Mr. Huang, stated that he had been notified of the collapse by local authorities. He has been working in Jiangmen, Guangdong for years, and the five-story building—which began construction in 2024—had already cost 500,000 yuan. Because he was unable to secure a permit to build elsewhere, he had no choice but to build near the river. He plans to apply for a new permit in 2026 to rebuild at a safer location.

From June to July 2025, Guangxi experienced a once-in-60-years extreme drought, which was abruptly followed by prolonged heavy rainfall. This led to multiple landslides and the collapse of riverside structures. On July 1, due to heavy rain, a mudslide struck Pingliu Village in Jinzhongshan Township, Longlin County, resulting in the collapse of two houses and damage to four others. No injuries were reported.
