It's going on and on and on. And our demonstrations are also going on and on. And we know that we will demonstrate and protest against the Israeli ethnic cleansing of Palestine and against the genocide in Gaza as long as it continues." "What is good, what is positive, is that more and more people, more and more media in Sweden and around the world are now noticing what's going on. They are publishing pictures, they are publishing films to show the people what is really going on. So now people have the chance to see it. And the people are waking up. Intellectual journalists. Many people—hundreds of Swedish academics—have demanded the boycott of Israeli academics." "So people are waking up, and it's very important. It's very sad that they wake up after so many months, after so many years of oppression for the Palestinian people. But it's very good that they are waking up. And we welcome everyone. Please come and demonstrate with us, regardless of ethnicity, regardless of religion. Come and be with us, because we fight for human rights and international law. And everyone should have the same rights to live in safety and security." STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - JULY 5: Hundreds of people held a protest in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, on Saturday, July 5, demanding an end to what they described as Israel’s genocide against Palestinians. Gathering at Odenplan Square upon the call of numerous non-governmental organizations, the demonstrators called for an immediate end to war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza. During the protest, demonstrators carried Palestinian flags, photos of children killed in Israeli attacks, and banners reading “Stop the Zionist regime’s genocide in Palestine.” Marching to the Swedish Parliament building, they accused the Swedish government of remaining silent in the face of Israel’s actions. Swedish activist of Jewish origin Dror Feiler, who supported the protest, told an Anadolu that Israel’s genocide in Palestine must be stopped. “It's been more than 80 weeks that we have been standing here in the square of Odenplan in Stockholm, demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinian people and against the genocide that is going on in Gaza,” Feiler said and added that their protests would continue as long as the genocide does. Feiler added that global media could no longer remain silent about the genocide, stating: "What is good, what is positive, is that more and more people, more and more media in Sweden and around the world are now noticing what's going on. They are publishing pictures, they are publishing films to show the people what is really going on." "So now people have the chance to see it. And the people are waking up. Intellectual journalists. Many people—hundreds of Swedish academics—have demanded the boycott of Israeli academics." Feiler said that after so many months of oppression against Palestinians, people are finally waking up, and he called for participation in the protests. "Please come and demonstrate with us, regardless of ethnicity, regardless of religion. Come and be with us, because we fight for human rights and international law." Writing by Ayse Elif Erdis.
