The demonstration took place between the Bundestag (Federal Parliament) and the nearby Spree River, where activists held banners reading “Stop Deep Sea Mining.” The group urged German lawmakers to oppose industrial-scale mining of the deep sea. Greenpeace aims to draw attention to the environmental risks of extracting minerals from the ocean floor, warning that such practices could endanger fragile marine ecosystems.
