This is the shocking moment a road roller came loose from the back of a lorry and rolled straight into the car behind.

Dashcam footage shows the filming vehicle stopped behind the lorry on a road in the Fuling District of Chongqing City, China.

As the lorry begins to move, the road roller suddenly appears to come loose, rolling off the back of the trailer and crashing directly into the stationary car behind.

The car was violently shunted backwards multiple times by the heavy machinery before the roller eventually came to a stop.

A later video clip of the aftermath shows the car visibly damaged in the incident on June 29.

Local media reported that the impact pushed the car into two motorcyclists, who were injured and taken to hospital. Their injuries were not reported to be life-threatening.

The occupants of the car were reportedly unharmed.
