The strike, organized by unions representing railway sector employees, began at 9 p.m. local time on Monday and is set to continue until 6 p.m. Tuesday. The industrial action led to the cancellation of numerous train services and delays of up to two hours, affecting major rail hubs such as Rome, Milan and Naples.
