The strike, organized by unions representing railway sector employees, began at 9 p.m. local time on Monday and is set to continue until 6 p.m. Tuesday. The industrial action led to the cancellation of numerous train services and delays of up to two hours, affecting major rail hubs such as Rome, Milan and Naples. Passengers were seen closely monitoring information boards while awaiting updates on delayed or canceled services.
